MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR

September 2024
Message from the Chair

Well, here we are in the beginning of September. Soon Fall will be in the air and temperatures will be cooling off. Once again, this month marks the peak of hurricane season, so please be sure you have a plan in place for your home as well as your business.

This month we have a special event that is a ton of fun for everyone. The annual Team Bruce Baker, MBA-RE/MAX Infinity Casino Night, co-sponsored by Corona, will be held on September 7th at the Santa Rosa County Auditorium. This is a unique event, lots of prizes to be won, great food and comradery. There will be a poker tournament, blackjack, roulette, crap tables and more. Your ticket includes 5k in chips and at the end of the night chips are cashed in for tickets to be drawn for the great prizes we have assembled. I look forward to seeing you all there. (I’ll be at one of the crap tables.) Tickets for the event are available on the Chamber website and are limited to 180 attendees.

It’s also time to get your golf game tuned up for the 31st Annual Chamber Golf Tournament “Team Bruce Baker, MBA-RE/MAX Infinity Golf Classic” at Stonebrook Village Golf Club. This event fills up quickly with teams as well as sponsors, so register on the Chamber website or give Nicole a call. A huge Thank You to Team Bruce Baker for sponsoring this event and to Director Emeritus Mr. Larry Strain for his efforts every year to make this tournament a special event for everyone involved.

For new and established members alike Board member Ms. Lechia Froman will be conducting a member orientation in the McKenzie Room at the Chamber office on September 17th. Please plan to have a representative at this orientation so that your business can take full advantage of the benefits Chamber membership offers. Get all the bang for your membership buck!!

Nominations for the 2025 Board of Directors will be open in September. We have several positions coming open for next year. My experience on the Board for the past few years has been deeply gratifying to say the least. Working with the people that help to make Santa Rosa County a wonderful place to live, play and do business is a noble and admirable position. If you know someone or you are interested, have the time, ability and interest to help to steer our Chamber into the future, please contact the Chamber office and submit your nomination.

Leadership Santa Rosa Class 38 is filling up quickly. This program is designed to develop participants for leadership roles in the local community. The program’s instruction year from January 2025 through November explores the opportunities and challenges facing Santa Rosa County and Northwest Florida today as well as in the future. The contacts and lifelong friends you will make with your participation in this program will enrich your knowledge of the inner workings of the county as well as the state. As a proud member of class 35, I must say this was one of the most eye-opening experiences of my life. Nomination forms can be obtained at the Chamber office. I encourage you to consider participation.

School has started in Santa Rosa County; I encourage you to drive carefully. Enjoy the paradise we live in called Santa Rosa County!

See You All Soon! God Bless,
Frank Hoskins Your Board Chair
