It would be difficult to find a community which could offer more than Santa Rosa in the area of health care. The county is served by three modern hospitals, an array of physicians and three major hospitals in nearby Pensacola.
Santa Rosa County's largest health-care facility is Santa Rosa Medical Center.
The 129-bed acute care facility has over 50 physicians, and provides services ranging from 24-hour physician-staffed emergency care, women's services including the Baby Suite Family Birthing Center, day surgery, critical care, high-tech radiology, skilled nursing facilities, business health program and physician referral. The hospital also offers high-technology testing and diagnostic services, including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) CT scans and mammography. Santa Rosa Medical Center also operates Pace Family Medical Center and has two family practice physicians located in Navarre, Florida.
The county is also served by two smaller hospitals operated by Baptist Health Care and located in Gulf Breeze and Jay. Both hospitals are located next to medical office buildings for physicians.
Gulf Breeze Hospital is a 60-bed facility. Jay Hospital, located in northern Santa Rosa County, is a 55-bed facility serving the people of Jay, Century, Flomaton and other small communities in the area. The hospital provides acute, emergency and long-term care. Specialized services including CT scans, mammography, ultrasound and echo encephalography are also available at the hospital through a mobile service which visits the hospital regularly.
Baptist Health Care also offers two primary care centers in the county, Gulf Breeze Internal Medicine Associates and Navarre Family Medicine Center.
